private lessons
Lessons focus on meeting the student where they're at and prioritizing the student's musical goals. Not everyone wants to practice arpeggios and not everyone wants to learn the chords to the Top 40. Whether you want to strum along at a campfire, or take a deep dive into music theory, we focus on what you want to learn.
Beginner to advanced guitar/bass/drum lessons available.

I started teaching guitar, bass, drums in 2010 mostly traveling to people's homes. Since then, I've taught private lessons at local music facilities, coached bands, and now offer in-person lessons either at the student's home or at my studio.

"I had an incredible experience taking music lessons with Nic. His passion for music and teaching made lessons enjoyable and engaging. I gained so much knowledge in technique, music theory, and expression. His attention to detail with each note ensured that I was playing correctly, but also that I understood the 'why' behind everything. Nic was patient, encouraging, and made each lesson exciting. With his guidance, I grew tremendously as a musician and was able to gain the confidence to play my own shows. He taught me practicing techniques, stage presence, and to believe in my own abilities. I highly recommend Nic to anyone who is looking to deepen their knowledge of music!"

"I've been trying to learn guitar on my own for about a year, and didn't make much progress. Attic Studios helped me improve and learn so much more in a few months than I did in the year on my own. Nic is knowledgeable not just on the instrument I was learning, but music as a whole which gave me a more productive understanding of many techniques. Lessons went at a comfortable pace, and we would spend extra time on concepts I struggled with, and not waste time on concepts I understood quicker. Lessons at Attic Studios are fun and productive, and I highly recommend them if you are looking to learn an instrument."

(Bass Lessons)
"I started bass guitar lessons with Nic at Attic Studios over 10 years ago, and his approach to teaching lessons is a huge reason I still have a passion for playing today. An area Nic excels where other instructors I worked with failed is how he started with music and topics I was excited about, then injected music theory and principles throughout our lessons. Everything was connected to my goals and interests which kept the learning process fun. Nic's wide range of talents (guitar, drums, piano, bass, marimba, etc.) gave me confidence to play with other people and eventually in bands since we always would play together in lessons."
