Nic Tassone
With over two decades of experience playing drums, percussion, guitar, bass, and piano, my musical journey started at age four as a third generation drummer. I've been fascinated with recording ever since I discovered the voice memo mic on my mp3 player in middle school:

Learning a variety of instruments and improving my recording abilities went hand-in-hand. I loved the feeling of being able to layer different instruments and create something bigger than I could play live, by myself.

I've played in gigging bands spanning genres from reggae to country, constantly evolving as a musician and producer. While I initially took the formal career path of becoming a high school math teacher, my passion for making and sharing music ultimately tipped the scale. That shift led me to transition from full-time teaching to running this studio full-time, and still offering math tutoring.

When people hear of my intersecting passions for math and music, their reaction is either deep confusion or "yeah, I could see that." I believe that my understanding of math has given me a unique creative perspective as a musician and audio engineer – and playing music has helped me to understand math.

As a certified high school math teacher, I've spent over a decade developing my teaching philosophy. Allowing room for exploration and creating an environment conducive to working in a flow-state has proven effective not only in high school math classrooms, but also in a recording studio.
I look forward to being part of your musical or academic journey!
